Consultation

This a booking for a 15 minute consultation phone call prior to starting therapy.

I view connection as a pathway to healing, and view the relationship between therapist and client as a conduit to making peace within yourself. I support clients navigating ADHD and executive challenges, LGBT identities and experience, shame, and complex trauma and stress. Let’s collaborate on what healing looks like, living life on your own terms, and achieving wellness to engage meaningfully with your relationships and the issues you care about. In our sessions, we can look at your life through a holistic lens. We can understand how to bring forth your inner resilience and the resources around you to cultivate wellness in your day to day life.

I believe in humor and humanity to guide our work together. Whether it’s relationships, school, work-life balance, perfectionism and shame, or healing trauma, I am excited to co-captain in your healing journey. I bring in mindfulness, EMDR, secular Buddhism, and DBT skills, and with openness and curiosity I tailor sessions to your specific needs.

In our current world, we need to foster community and connection more than ever. I hope to provide a space for you to slow down from the chaos of the world, where it’s safe to be your authentic self, and where our relationship can be a springboard for achieving the wellness and contentment you deserve. Reach out for a 15-minute consultation and let’s see if we’re a good fit!

Virtual In-person Works With Adults (18+) Women LGBTQIA+ folks Availability Mornings Early Afternoons Specialties Religious Trauma & Spiritual Abuse Late Diagnosed Autism/ADHD LGBTQIA+ issues Trauma & PTSD Life Transitions I provide therapy for women and queer folks who are ready to heal the pain of past experiences and come home to themselves. I have people ask me, what does “coming home to yourself even mean?”. Through trauma-informed and compassionate care, I work collaboratively with you to help you reestablish your sense of self, reconnect with your intuition and inner world, and deepen your relationship to others. We will look at patterns of pain in your life, work to understand their roots, and process the past so you have new options of thriving moving forward.

Individuals who have experienced religious harm, disappointment in faith communities, or are leaving high control groups are particularly drawn to my work. It’s important to honor the grief and feelings of isolation that can come with reconsidering beliefs that were once so important to you.

Other clients that I see in my practice include folks undergoing identity shifts related to sexuality and gender, people who have experienced relational trauma, clients who are “late-bloomers”, and individuals navigating late diagnosed ADHD/Autism.

I know how hard finding the right therapist can be. In my practice as a therapist, I have learned that healing often comes through the power of relationships – including ours! In our first sessions, I am intentional in making sure that you are feeling safe, connected, seen, and heard.

I have over 6 years of experience providing therapy to individuals, and find it to be an immense honor to partner together in your healing. In our work together, we will explore goals, your needs, and the systems that may be impacting them. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and based in person-centered practices. I take into account all of who you are from a holistic lens, and look to understand the depth of the issues, not just the symptoms showing up. My hope is that through this depth work, we can increase understanding of where these issues began, and give you new paths forward. I am also a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) clinician, and am happy to discuss if EMDR could be a good fit for you.

If what you’ve read resonates with you – please give me a call. I offer free 15-minute consultations to confirm if we’d be a good fit and discuss logistics. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello, I’m Kelly Ann Havlin, a compassionate trauma and developmental specialist based in Pasadena, CA. My practice is dedicated to supporting individuals and families as they navigate the complexities of trauma, grief, and neurodiversity, both in-person in Pasadena and virtually across California.

My journey in this field began with a deep-seated passion for helping others, further ignited by my immersive experiences in Kenya. There, I supported individuals and families dealing with intergenerational trauma, which profoundly shaped my therapeutic approach.

As the supervisor and CEO of AMJAK Therapy Center, I lead a team committed to delivering compassionate and effective therapeutic care. In addition to overseeing our center’s services, I actively contribute to Didi Hirsch’s Survivors After Suicide program, guiding survivor groups through their healing process and engaging in impactful community outreach.

My therapeutic approach integrates EMDR and attachment-based therapy, designed to create a safe space for emotional regulation and personal growth. I also utilize trauma-informed DIR Floortime® and Havening techniques, tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals on the autism spectrum and those affected by trauma.

Whether you’re seeking in-person support in Pasadena or virtual therapy services across California, I am here to help you find relief from past pain, understand your sensory profiles, and build deeper connections. It is my sincere honor to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.

Let’s work together to transform your pain into a path of growth and connection.

Hello! One of the hardest first steps can be finding the right therapist. More important than the right method or intervention, is finding someone you can trust and feel comfortable with. That’s why, one of the first things I tell people when they’re looking for a therapist, is making sure they find one they feel safe with. Life presents many challenges both large and small that can push us to our limits. We may find ourselves caught up in strong feelings that can make it difficult to make it through the day or put strain on our relationships leaving us feeling lost and alone. It’s during these times that we may need a little extra support. A space where we can make sense of our experiences and discover paths to becoming more resilient in the face of life’s challenges.

I work with individuals (from young children through adults), couples, and families to help them through a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, parenting, life-transitions, and trauma. I find that the best therapy work happens in a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel comfortable being themselves. And while therapy can be heavy work, it doesn’t always have to be. I like to weave fun in with my experience and training, especially in my work with kids, so that the process feels balanced.
